Second Points Competition

If you have been to the Great Hall recently, you'll see that it's time for Ravenclaw to receive another big push for the Cup! The First Points Competition became a success, and after one month, we start the Second Points Competition.

The rules for this year's competition will be slightly different from the last:

The goal is to earn as many points as you can within one week. You will have 7 days to earn as many points as possible, preferable at least 10 000. You will receive a bonus prize if you reach 10 000.

The competition starts July 31, 2012 at noon at Greenwich Borough, England, UK. I understand that Pottermore is an international community, therefore the starting time needed to be stated from a certain time zone. Though some might see an unfair advantage as to times, don't fret, as everyone will be off Pottermore at some point in the day. There will always be a time when you are on Pottermore whereas others are sleeping or busy, and vice versa.

*Dealing with time zones can be confusing, especially since some places have Daylight Savings time. So, I reccomend this Time Zone Converter and Time Difference Calculator. This lets you convert the time from any location to yours. Enter Greenwich Borough, England, United Kingdom as the first location and the time as 12/12pm, and your location as the second location. Click Convert Time and it should give you an exact time and date.

The competition ends on August 7, 2012 at noon at Greenwich Borough, England, UK. When the competition is over, the point difference will be calculated for each person, thereby putting them in ranks.

There will be a tracking system to calculate point difference. Point difference is the difference between your starting point and your current house points. Note that the system isn't real-time. I will be checking up on each contestant regularly and computation is set up to calculate the point difference. This is put in place to avoid cheating/lying about your point difference.

If you are interested in joining the contest, just post your full Pottermore name in a comment below. It is imperative that you post your Pottermore username and not your nickname, as I will need to bookmark your profiles to view your points.

There is a "first come, first serve basis". During points checks, I will be running from first to last contestant to register. So, it gives a slight advantage to the first few people to register. If you are interested in joining, post a comment as soon as possible!

The first "points check" will be at the starting hour. Points checks will continue regularly from there on. The final points check will be done at the time the competition ends.

NOTE: ONLY POINT DIFFERENCES FOUND IN THE FINAL POINTS CHECK WILL DETERMINE THE WINNER.
